Tigers' Meadows concussed after outfield collision with Greene
Detroit Tigers center fielder Parker Meadows was carted off the field with an injury after colliding with teammate Riley Greene in the eighth inning of Thursday's game versus the Minnesota Twins.
Meadows was diagnosed with a concussion and will stay in Minneapolis overnight for observation, the team announced postgame, according to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News.
"Obviously we're going to get him checked out for everything, but this one worries me," manager A.J. Hinch said, according to Jason Beck of MLB.com.
As Meadows and Greene simultaneously went to make a play on Josh Bell's line drive, their heads appeared to make contact. Greene held on for the catch, but Meadows fell to the ground and remained down. Blood started to run from Meadows' mouth as a result of him biting the inside of it during the collision. Hinch added that Meadows was "pretty out of it" on the field.

After being treated by medical personnel for several minutes, Meadows was able to stand with assistance and reach the cart.
Kevin McGonigle entered the game for Meadows at shortstop, while Javier Báez shifted to center.
Minnesota went on to win 3-1, completing a four-game sweep of Detroit.
