Wetherholt is expected to begin the season as the team's starting second baseman. The 23-year-old is the No. 5-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.
Wetherholt hit two homers with seven RBIs and a .780 OPS across 15 games during spring training. He went deep 17 times with 59 RBIs, 23 stolen bases, and a .931 OPS over 109 contests between Double-A and Triple-A in 2025.
St. Louis selected the infielder with the seventh pick in the 2024 draft.
