The Los Angeles Dodgers re-signed right-hander Evan Phillips to a one-year, $6.5-million deal, the team announced Wednesday
L.A. designated catcher Ben Rortvedt for assignment to make room on the roster for Phillips.
Phillips was non-tendered by the Dodgers in November. He's expected to be sidelined until the middle of the 2026 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
The 31-year-old reliever has been spectacular out of the bullpen since joining Los Angeles in 2021, posting a 2.22 ERA and 10.2 K/9 with 45 saves in 201 appearances.
Phillips, who's also played for the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, and Tampa Bay Rays, won a World Series with the Dodgers in 2024.
