Twins part ways with president of baseball operations Falvey
The Minnesota Twins and president of baseball and business operations Derek Falvey mutually agreed to part ways, the club announced Friday.
General manager Jeremy Zoll will take over baseball operations, while owner Tom Pohlad will run business operations on an interim basis.
Falvey's departure comes after the Pohlad family changed the Twins' ownership structure following the purchase of portions of the franchise by three new investor groups in December.
"Ownership transitions naturally create moments for reflection and honest dialogue about leadership, vision, and how an organization wants to move forward," Falvey said in a statement. "Over the past several weeks, we had those conversations openly and constructively and ultimately reached a shared understanding that this was the right step both for the organization and for me personally."
The Twins went 690-666 over nine seasons with Falvey in charge of roster decisions. The team won three AL Central titles (2019, 2020, 2023) and made the playoffs four times during his tenure.
However, Minnesota missed the postseason in 2024 and 2025, including a 92-loss campaign last year.
Falvey, 42, was hired in October 2016 as the club's executive vice president and chief baseball officer before he was promoted to president in 2019.
