Bichette will start at 2B for World Series Game 3
The Toronto Blue Jays expect Bo Bichette to be back in the lineup and starting at second base for Game 3 of the World Series on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, manager John Schneider said Sunday.
"Doing well. Expecting him to be in there," Schneider said. "He's out here working out today. Felt good coming out of yesterday. I think with each day that goes on, he'll probably get as close to normal as he can at this stage of the year. But the fact that he's out here working out today is a good sign and expect him to be in there tomorrow."
Bichette wasn't in the starting lineup during Saturday's Game 2 loss but made a pinch-hit appearance in the seventh. He grounded out to end the inning in his only at-bat.
"He's going to play second base tomorrow," Schneider said.
The 27-year-old started Friday's Game 1 win, going 1-for-2 with a walk in his first contest since suffering a knee sprain in early September. He was eventually lifted for Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
Bichette hit .311/.357/.483 with 18 homers, 44 doubles, and 94 RBIs in 139 games during the regular season.
The two-time All-Star will be a free agent at the conclusion of the World Series.
