Twins ship Coulombe to Rangers
The Texas Rangers acquired left-handed reliever Danny Coulombe from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for minor-league starter Garrett Horn, the teams announced Thursday.
Coulombe owns a career-best 1.16 ERA in 40 appearances this season. He's allowed just 21 hits in 31 innings while striking out 31 batters.
The move reinforces a Rangers bullpen dealing with multiple injuries, including to right-hander Jacob Webb, who landed on the injury list Wednesday with back spasms. Texas has also been without Chris Martin since July 21 due to a strained left calf.
Horn has made a combined nine starts in 2025 between rookie ball and Single-A. In 18 1/3 innings with the Hickory Crawdads, the 22-year-old posted a 3.44 ERA.
Coulombe is the second bullpen arm acquired by the Rangers since mid-July. They also picked up José Ruiz from the Atlanta Braves on July 17 but parted with reliever Dane Dunning. Ruiz has yet to make a major-league appearance with Texas.
