Mets' Lindor day-to-day with broken pinky toe
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor is out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a broken right pinky toe, according to SNY.
"Sliding, hit my toe, and broke it," Lindor said about how the injury occurred.
Lindor added that he intends to try and play through the ailment. The Mets continue their road trip with a weekend series at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies beginning Friday.
"I'm day-by-day," Lindor said. "Hopefully, I feel good enough to play sooner rather than later, and we'll see. We'll take it day-by-day. I trust the trainers, I trust how they go about it."
Lindor has been excellent this season, slashing .279/.353/.490 with 14 home runs, 42 runs scored, 36 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases in 61 games for the NL East-leading Mets.
