Realmuto hopes to only miss 1 game after foul ball to groin area
Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto hopes he'll only miss one game after being hit by a foul ball late in Wednesday's contest versus the Toronto Blue Jays.
"Still intact," Realmuto said Thursday after being evaluated, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb.
Realmuto left the game after appearing to take a Bo Bichette foul tip in the groin area at the start of the ninth inning. He was down for a few minutes and eventually needed help leaving the field. Rafael Marchán finished the contest, which the Phillies lost 2-1, behind the plate.

Realmuto, 34, is off to a slow start at the plate, hitting .226/.297/.358 with five homers and 22 RBIs through 51 games.
If Realmuto needs some extra recovery time, Marchán would likely take over full-time catching duties until he returns. Garrett Stubbs, the only other catcher on Philadelphia's 40-man roster, is playing in Triple-A.
