The Seattle Mariners acquired right-handed reliever JT Chargois from the Miami Marlins for pitching prospect Will Schomberg, the clubs announced Tuesday.

Chargois, 33, has only pitched in 15 games this season due to a neck issue. Since returning from the injured list, he's posted a 1.62 ERA, 5.32 FIP, and 1.32 WHIP along with 12 strikeouts and seven walks. He has one more season of arbitration eligibility remaining.

This will be Chargois' second stint with the Mariners. He made 31 relief appearances for the club in 2021.

Schomberg, 23, is a right-handed starting pitcher who's split this season between the Low-A and High-A levels. The Davidson College product owns a 2.83 ERA and 1.21 WHIP along with 116 strikeouts over 19 total starts in 2024.
