Braves' Acuña limps off with knee soreness

Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. exited Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with left knee soreness, the team announced.

"We won't know anything until tomorrow. Absolutely concerned. We're not going to know anything until we get him looked at," Braves manager Brian Snitker said, per Kevin McAlpin of the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

Acuña suffered the injury while attempting to steal third base after hitting a leadoff double. He immediately collapsed to the ground.

Following a conversation with a team trainer, Acuña walked off the field under his own power despite being in visible pain.

Postgame, Acuña compared the discomfort to the ACL sprain he suffered in 2018, per MLB.com's Mark Bowman. The outfielder also said he'll go on the injured list and wouldn't be surprised to miss a month.

The reigning NL MVP has a history of knee issues. He missed a significant portion of the 2021 season with a torn ACL, then underperformed by his standards through much of 2022 as he rebuilt strength.
