The New York Yankees are bringing back a familiar face, agreeing to a minor-league deal with veteran infielder Rougned Odor, reports the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
Odor's pact reportedly includes an opt-out after July 1.
The 30-year-old appeared in 102 games for the Yankees in 2021, slashing .202/.286/.379 with 15 home runs and 39 RBIs.
Odor should provide New York with defensive infield depth. He's mostly appeared at second and third base throughout his career, with a small number of reps at first and in the outfield.
Odor inked a deal with Japan's Yomiuri Giants in January but requested his release after he was told he'd begin the season in the minors. Odor hit .176 in 12 preseason games with the Giants.
