Jonathan India's time with the Cincinnati Reds could be coming to a close.
The Reds are discussing a trade involving the second baseman with three or four teams, sources told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
While the discussions are active and dialogue has progressed in the past week, no deal is close, Morosi adds.
The Reds have an abundance of young infielders in Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, and Noelvi Marte, which likely makes India expendable.
India, 26, appeared in 119 games for the Reds last season, slashing .244/.338/.407 with 17 home runs, 23 doubles, 61 RBIs, and 14 steals.
The 2021 National League Rookie of the Year is arbitration eligible in 2024 and projected to make $3.7 million.
