Report: Red Sox getting rejected by targeted GM candidates
The Boston Red Sox vacant general manager position doesn't appear to be very desirable.
The Red Sox have been rejected by multiple targeted candidates for the opening, sources told Sean McAdam of MassLive.
Some of the candidates are reportedly disinterested in working for a team with a high level of turnover in its baseball operations department.
The new GM will also have to work with returning manager Alex Cora and several longtime executives. As a result, there's concern about how operations are run, sources told McAdam.
Boston is reportedly eyeing former Miami Marlins GM and current MLB executive Michael Hill. However, it's not known if the feeling is mutual, according to McAdam.
The Red Sox fired chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom in mid-September. The club finished last in the AL East three times over the last four years.
