New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor underwent surgery to have a bone spur removed from his right elbow on Tuesday, according to the New York Post's Mike Puma.

The 29-year-old is expected to be ready for spring training.

Lindor played through the elbow injury, which he first felt in spring training, all season, a source told SNY's Andy Martino.

The four-time All-Star was one of the highlights during a down year for the Mets, posting an .806 OPS (120 OPS+) while leading qualified National League shortstops in fWAR. He also hit 30-plus home runs for the fourth time and stole a career-high 31 bases.

The Puerto Rican had one of the finest defensive seasons of his nine-year career, amassing seven defensive runs saved and six outs above average in 1,365 1/3 innings at shortstop.

Lindor has eight years remaining on his contract with the Mets, which is set to pay him $34.1 million next season.
