The Cincinnati Reds announced Friday that they signed manager David Bell to a contract extension through the 2026 season.
Cincinnati hired Bell in 2018. He owns a 307-343 record in parts of five seasons at the helm.
Bell's current two-year contract was set to expire at the conclusion of the season.
The Reds have been one of baseball's most pleasant surprises in 2023. They entered play Friday with a 56-48 record and sat 1.5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers for first place in the NL Central.
