The Detroit Tigers placed left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list with a left index finger pulley rupture, the club announced Tuesday.
The move is retroactive to May 29.
Rodriguez is having a career season, authoring a 2.13 ERA with 0.96 WHIP and 67 strikeouts over 67 2/3 innings (11 starts) for the Tigers. The 30-year-old can opt out of his contract after the 2023 campaign. He has three years and $49 million remaining after this year.
Detroit also placed outfielder Matt Vierling on the 10-day injured list with low back soreness.
Right-hander Braden Bristo and infielder Tyler Nevin were recalled to round out the active major-league roster.
