Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. underwent an MRI after being removed from Tuesday's game with right knee discomfort, and it revealed no structural concerns, manager John Schneider said Wednesday, according to Mitch Bannon of Sports Illustrated. He is day-to-day.

Guerrero suffered the injury while fielding a bunt attempt from New York Yankees infielder Gleyber Torres in the top of the eighth inning. He stayed in for the remainder of the frame before Toronto replaced him defensively in the top of the ninth inning. Brandon Belt, who pinch-hit for Cavan Biggio in the bottom of the eighth, moved to first base. Nathan Lukes took over Guerrero's spot in the lineup, going to right field for Biggio.

The 24-year-old two-time All-Star is hitting .312/.385/.516 with seven homers and two stolen bases through 40 games, including Tuesday's action.

The Blue Jays dropped their second straight against the division-rival Yankees, losing 6-3 Tuesday. It was a tense game, one day after reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge was seen peering toward his dugout while at the plate moments before hitting a home run.

Tuesday's contest wasn't without controversy, either, with managers arguing over the placement of base coaches and Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German getting ejected after being checked by umpires for foreign substances.
