Seven Chicago Cubs pitchers combined to no-hit the San Diego Padres in Friday's 4-0 Cactus League victory.

Justin Steele, Javier Assad, Brad Boxberger, Adbert Alzolay, Jeremiah Estrada, Cam Sanders, and Nick Burdi teamed up to stymie San Diego's lineup.

Burdi completed the impressive feat, getting Padres infielder Tim Lopes to hit into a game-ending double play.

This is the first spring no-hitter in Cubs history, according to Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune.

"It's a spring training game, but it never feels good to get no-hit," Padres manager Bob Melvin said, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. "We're not going to go home with a smile on our face."

The no-hitter is the first in a spring training game since the Los Angeles Angels used eight pitchers to shut down the Seattle Mariners during a contest in March 2017.
