Cardinals extend Mozeliak through 2025
The St. Louis Cardinals and president of baseball operations John Mozeliak agreed to an extension through the 2025 season, the team announced Tuesday.
His current deal was set to expire at the end of the 2023 campaign.
Mozeliak, 54, joined the Cardinals organization as a scout in 1995 and was eventually promoted to general manager in 2007. If Mozeliak stays with St. Louis through the end of his new extension, he'll have been with the club for 31 years and led baseball ops for 19 seasons.
Mozeliak is one of the most accomplished executives in MLB, currently overseeing a streak of 15 straight winning seasons. He notably helped assemble the 2011 championship club and made a second appearance in the Fall Classic in 2013, ultimately losing to the Boston Red Sox.
