Report: Giants, Manaea agree to 2-year, $25M deal
The San Francisco Giants agreed to a two-year, $25-million deal with left-hander Sean Manaea, reports the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
Manaea's deal includes an opt-out clause.
The 30-year-old joins a Giants rotation that is expected to include Logan Webb, Alex Cobb, Alex Wood, and Anthony DeSclafani next season.
Manaea spent last year with the San Diego Padres, posting an 8-9 record with a 4.96 ERA and 8.9 K/9 in 158 innings.
Before the 2022 campaign, the Indiana native spent six seasons with the Oakland Athletics, authoring a 3.86 ERA and 3.96 FIP in 129 appearances, including 128 starts.
Manaea is the Giants' third significant addition this offseason after they signed outfielder Mitch Haniger to a three-year deal and brought back Joc Pederson, who accepted a qualifying offer.
The Giants are also planning to continue pursuing free-agent left-hander Carlos Rodon even after signing Manaea, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.
