New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge was on the receiving end of boos at Yankee Stadium during Friday's 4-2 loss to the Cleveland Guardians after he struck out four times.

"There's nothing I can do. I gotta play better," Judge said, according to ESPN's Joon Lee. "That's what it comes down to. Didn't do the job tonight."

The slugger is 0-for-8 with seven strikeouts in the American League Division Series. He's the only player in MLB history to have four strikeouts in a playoff game four different times, according to Lee.

Judge struck out four times against Cleveland in three different games during the 2017 ALDS.

Guardians manager Terry Francona wouldn't reveal what his team is doing to contain Judge, although Cleveland appears to be attacking the Yankees star with breaking balls down and away.

Judge has also been late on pitches in the middle of the strike zone.

"A lot of the day, they executed against him," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. "The couple pitches he's gotten to hit, he's fouled off. I think a lot of today was a product of execution by them and this being just a challenging day picking up spin, things like that."

The 30-year-old's struggles come after a historic regular season where he set the AL's single-season home run record.

Judge is a free agent at the end of the season. The AL MVP front-runner is seeking a contract larger than the seven-year, $213.5-million offer from the Yankees that he turned down in April.
