Report: Dodgers, Duffy agree to 1-year deal
The Los Angeles Dodgers seem poised to bring back veteran left-handed starter Danny Duffy to their rotation as they are reportedly in agreement on a one-year deal with a team option for 2023, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
The deal includes a club option for 2023 worth $7 million that can reach $10 million if Duffy appears in 15 games and pitches 15 innings this season, according to FanSided's Robert Murray.
If the club option is exercised, there are performance bonuses that can bring Danny Duffy's deal with the Dodgers to $15 million if he pitches 150 innings and $16 million if he pitches 160 innings. https://t.co/3hYNzQr44z

Duffy, 33, has spent almost all of his 11-year career as a member of the Kansas City Royals, authoring a 3.95 ERA and 4.17 FIP over 234 games. The Royals traded him to the Dodgers before last year's deadline, but he never made an appearance for the club after suffering a flexor strain.
A native of Goleta, California, Duffy grew up cheering for the Dodgers. With the Royals expecting to lose him in free agency anyways, the front office traded him to L.A. along with cash for right-handed pitching prospect Zach Willeman.
