With spring training halted, the Major League Baseball Players Association is pursuing alternative arrangements to keep its players in game shape.

The union set up a "fully staffed" training facility for locked-out players at a stadium in Mesa, Arizona, sources told Robert Murray of FanSided.

There's also interest in setting up a similar center in Florida, a source told Evan Drellich of The Athletic.

Due to the lockout, only minor-league players who aren't on 40-man rosters are allowed to participate in spring training. All team facilities are closed to unionized players until a new collective bargaining agreement is in place.

MLB locked out its players on Dec. 2 after the previous CBA expired. The league and MLBPA met again Monday in Jupiter, Florida, with commissioner Rob Manfred among those in attendance. The league has threatened to cancel regular-season games if a deal isn't in place by the end of the day.
