Yankees' Cole exits in 4th inning vs. Blue Jays with hamstring injury
New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole was escorted off the field by a trainer in the fourth inning of Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Yankees later announced Cole exited with left hamstring tightness.
"It's tough to say right now," Cole said of missing his next start due to his hamstring issue, according to YES Network. "I'm disappointed about the outcome of today, but I want to reserve judgment until we see how this thing reacts in the next 24-36 hours."
Cole experienced a significant dip in velocity during an at-bat against Blue Jays catcher Reese McGuire before leaving the contest with what he later called "a little bit of a cramp, a tightness kind of feeling."

The right-hander was replaced by Albert Abreu, who finished the inning.
The AL Cy Young contender entered Tuesday's game with a 14-6 record, a 2.73 ERA, and 215 strikeouts in 155 innings.
New York wound up losing to Toronto 5-1. The Yankees have lost four straight games.
