Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich tested positive for COVID-19 and entered quarantine, the team's president of baseball operations David Stearns announced, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Yelich is reportedly experiencing mild symptoms and resting at home. He'll be in quarantine for at least 10 days.

Stearns said the 2018 National League MVP is fully vaccinated and followed the league's mandated safety protocols throughout the season, per Haudricourt. The executive added that he's confident the Brewers will still play against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

The Brewers, who reached an 85% vaccination rate, have been operating under relaxed safety protocols, as mandated by MLB.

Milwaukee also placed infielder Jace Peterson on the COVID-19 injured list due to contact tracing.

The Brewers reinstated outfielder Lorenzo Cain from the 10-day IL and recalled utility player Pablo Reyes from Triple-A to take Yelich's and Peterson's spots on the active roster.
