Minnesota Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson etched his name in the history books Saturday when he crossed home plate against the Kansas City Royals in the first inning thanks to a ground-rule double from Nelson Cruz.
Donaldson scored the two millionth run in Major League Baseball history, the league announced.
Though the 35-year-old's run is being celebrated as a historic one, the two millionth run may have already occurred, according to MLB.com's Sarah Langs; Langs notes the pending inclusion of Negro League stats in major-league record books could change how the run is eventually credited.
