The Atlanta Braves are bringing in veteran right-hander Tanner Roark on a minor-league contract, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Roark, 34, was recently released by the Toronto Blue Jays after they signed him to a two-year, $24-million contract prior to the 2020 season.

Over nine seasons in the majors between the Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds, Oakland Athletics, and Blue Jays, Roark owns a 3.85 ERA and 4.17 FIP, making 184 starts and 43 relief appearances.

The 17-17 Braves currently sit third in the NL East, 1 1/2 games back of the division lead. The rotation has been an area of weakness for Atlanta this season, as the team sits 27th in MLB in FanGraphs' WAR, with a collective 4.61 ERA and 4.83 FIP.
