Clayton Kershaw's afternoon came to an early end on Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander lasted just one inning, allowing four earned runs on four hits with two walks.

The outing was the shortest start of Kershaw's career.

Kershaw gave up a bases-clearing double to David Bote before escaping the inning three batters later.

The three-time Cy Young winner was engaged in a long dugout conversation with manager Dave Roberts before he was replaced by Dennis Santana to begin the second.
