The Chicago White Sox placed right-hander Lance Lynn on the 10-day injured list with a strained right trapezius, the team announced Sunday.

The 33-year-old first experienced discomfort during his outing last Thursday against the Cleveland Indians. He's expected to miss only one start, according to Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago.

Lynn has been an excellent addition to the team's pitching staff this season. He's posted a 0.92 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over 19 2/3 innings to open the season, and Lynn threw the league's first complete-game shutout of 2021 in his second start.

The veteran didn't allow an earned run over his first 18 2/3 innings, and he became the first White Sox pitcher to strike out 10-plus batters without walking anyone in back-to-back starts.

Right-hander Zack Burdi was recalled from the club's alternate training site in a corresponding move.
