The Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a deal with left-hander Jose Quintana, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

It's a one-year, $8-million contract, Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports reports. Completion of the deal is pending a physical, Rosenthal adds.

The 31-year-old made just four appearances and one start for the Chicago Cubs in 2020 due to thumb and lat injuries. In his most recent full campaign in 2019, he posted a 4.68 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 152 strikeouts across 171 innings.

Quintana owns a 3.73 ERA, 3.64 FIP, and 1.27 WHIP with 1,310 strikeouts across 254 appearances (247 starts) with the Cubs and Chicago White Sox. He was an All-Star in 2016.

In Anaheim, Quintana will likely be looked upon to provide depth for an Angels staff that's lacked consistent pitching in recent seasons.
