Report: Jeffress generating interest from 10 teams
Right-handed reliever Jeremy Jeffress is generating interest from at least 10 teams in free agency, sources told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
The Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, and Washington Nationals are reportedly among the teams showing interest in the 33-year-old.
Jeffress had a bounce-back year for the Cubs in 2020 after struggling with the Milwaukee Brewers the season prior. He recorded a 1.54 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 22 outings and allowed just one home run.
The former closer limited right-handed hitters to a .138 batting average last season and was even more effective against lefties, who hit .136 against him.
Jeffress, a veteran of 11 big-league seasons, had his best year in 2018 with the Brewers when he went 8-1 with 15 saves and posted a career-best 10.4 K/9.
