Twins ink Robles to 1-year deal
The Minnesota Twins signed reliever Hansel Robles to a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.
The deal is worth $2 million with up to $500,000 in performance bonuses, according to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com.
Robles became a free agent in early December after the Los Angeles Angels decided not to tender him a contract for the 2021 season.
The 30-year-old righty put up a 10.26 ERA in 18 appearances in 2020, but he accrued a 2.48 ERA with 23 saves in 72 2/3 innings for the Angels in 2019.
Hansel Robles has a mid-90s fastball, with a slider he mostly uses vs. righties and a changeup he mostly uses vs. lefties.

If the Twins can get him back to where he was before 2020, he's a solid replacement for Sergio Romo as a right-handed setup man with closing experience.
