Texas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo is available in trade talks, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Gallo is coming off a rough year at the plate - he hit .181 with a paltry .679 OPS despite 10 home runs - but he did showcase the best glovework of his career while earning his first Gold Glove award for his top-notch defense in right field.

The 27-year-old has always been a "three true outcomes" sort of player, featuring massive power, a propensity to strike out repeatedly, and an ability to draw walks at an elite rate.

Gallo was an All-Star in 2019 before an oblique strain and a fractured wrist prematurely ended his season. He hit .253/.389/.598 with 22 home runs and 49 RBIs in just 70 games.

The slugger remains under club control for two more seasons and is projected to earn between $4.7-$6.8 million in 2021 after arbitration, according to MLB Trade Rumors. Gallo is slated to hit free agency following the 2022 campaign.

The Rangers entered 2020 with eyes on contending, but the season quickly went down the tubes - the club's 22-38 record placed them last in the AL West. Texas has already traded ace right-hander Lance Lynn and reliever Rafael Montero since the offseason began.
