Wainwright convinced by son to return for 1 more MLB season
It appears that veteran right-hander Adam Wainwright has decided to return for at least one more season. However, the 39-year-old had a little help making the call.
My son Caleb just pointed at the tv and said, "Daddy ball." Well, that settles it. I guess I should play another year....

The longtime St. Louis Cardinals hurler may soon find himself in a new uniform, though. Wainwright is a free agent, and the Georgia native has already garnered interest from the Atlanta Braves - the team that originally drafted him in 2000.
Though Wainwright's best days appear to be behind him, he proved in the shortened 2020 campaign that he still has something left in the tank. He went 5-3 with a 3.15 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 10 starts while leading Cardinals pitchers with 1.0 fWAR.
The three-time All-Star has enjoyed a stellar 15 seasons with St. Louis. He's gone 167-98 with a 3.38 ERA and finished in the top four in Cy Young voting on four different occasions.
