Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will make his ninth Opening Day start when Major League Baseball's shortened campaign gets underway, manager Dave Roberts told Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.

Kershaw already holds the team record for the most Opening Day starts, making eight straight from 2011 to 2018. He missed Opening Day in 2019 due to injury, with Hyun-Jin Ryu starting in his place.

The Dodgers are slated to open the 2020 campaign at home against the San Francisco Giants on July 23.

Kershaw, the 2014 National League MVP and three-time Cy Young Award winner, has authored a 2.44 ERA and 2.74 FIP through 12 seasons with Los Angeles. He made his eighth All-Star appearance and posted a 3.03 ERA in 28 starts last year.
