The coronavirus outbreak is throwing a wrench into the plans of many big leaguers, including Los Angeles Dodgers top prospect Gavin Lux, who was set to begin his rookie campaign.

However, the 22-year-old wouldn't be opposed if Major League Baseball were to play its games in isolation in Arizona.

"For me, it's not a big deal. I would definitely do it," Lux told reporters on Sunday, including Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times.

Lux isn't the only player to say he supports the Arizona plan. Last week, Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon said he thought players would participate if instructed. Atlanta Braves veteran left-hander Cole Hamels also mentioned he'd be willing to make sacrifices to play.

On the flip side are Lux's teammate Clayton Kershaw and Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout, both of whom are opposed if being in Arizona keeps them away from their families.

Lux, who is single without children, understands why Kershaw and Trout would think differently.

"You got to look at both ends of the spectrum with guys with families," Lux said. "I would completely understand if you didn't want to do that and be away from your kids and your wife."

While the Arizona plan has been discussed, MLB hasn't taken any action yet. The league delayed the beginning of its season until at least mid-May in accordance with the CDC's recommendation that all gatherings of 50-plus people be limited.
