The Detroit Tigers acquired right-hander Dario Agrazal from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations, the club announced Monday.

Agrazal was designated for assignment on Nov. 20 by the Pirates.

The 24-year-old posted a 4.91 ERA in 73 1/3 innings (14 starts) with Pittsburgh in 2019, his first season in the majors.

Agrazal signed with the Pirates as an international free agent in July 2012. He was the club's 26th-ranked prospect in 2018, according to MLB Pipeline.

The Tigers' 40-man roster was full after the trade. However, Detroit requested unconditional release waivers on right-hander Drew VerHagen to lower it to 39 players, according to the team.
