New York Yankees fans welcomed the visiting Houston Astros with some customary jeers, but they took it too far when a few patrons threw objects - including bottles - onto the field during play.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch said pregame Thursday that he will not hesitate to pull his team off the field if the Yankee Stadium faithful repeat their Game 3 actions.

"It has become a dangerous situation. Our guys have reported, both in the bullpen and in the outfield, you can see the stuff thrown on the field," Hinch told reporters before Game 4 of the American League Championship Series. "And there's no place for that; both teams will agree.

"It's really hard to stop fans from doing that but it's also very dangerous. MLB is aware, we're aware. I will pull the team off the field if we get in that situation again, where bottles are being thrown and balls are being thrown and it becomes unruly. There's other ways to support your home team."

Astros outfielder Josh Reddick criticized the behavior of Yankees fans, calling their actions "disrespectful." At the time, Hinch informed the umpires that he would remove his team from the field if one more bottle was thrown, according to Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle.

During the game, the PA announcer at Yankee Stadium warned fans that throwing objects on the field could result in ejections.
