The Miami Marlins and infielder Miguel Rojas are reportedly in agreement on a two-year contract with a team option for a third year, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
The deal buys out one arbitration year and one free-agent year for the 30-year-old, according to Heyman. Financial terms were not reported.
In his fifth season with the Marlins, Rojas is batting .288/.338/.726 with five home runs and 45 RBIs. Though he's played every infield position over the course of his tenure in Miami, he's primarily been used at shortstop.
Rojas set a new single-game high with six RBIs on Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks. He went 4-for-6 with three doubles.
