Nico Hoerner's major-league debut for the Chicago Cubs on Monday was so incredible that he received a roaring ovation inside the opposition's stadium.

Fans at Petco Park, home of the hosting San Diego Padres, loudly chanted the Cubs shortstop's name in the sixth inning after the rookie drove in two runs with a single.

The knock was Hoerner's third and brought in his fourth RBI of the game. With it, he became the first Cubs player with three-plus hits and four-plus RBIs in an MLB debut since Dee Fondy in 1951, according to Christopher Kamka of NBC Sports Chicago.

Hoerner was called up Monday following injuries to Javier Baez and Addison Russell.

Chicago drafted the 22-year-old in the first round of the 2018 draft.
