The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees put their storied rivalry to the side Sunday night in order to honor a legend.
Before Sunday's game, the Red Sox held a brief ceremony to celebrate retiring Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia during his final visit to Fenway Park. Red Sox southpaw David Price presented his counterpart with his No. 52 from the Green Monster scoreboard as a memento, to applause from both teams and the Boston crowd.
Sabathia, who is currently on the injured list, had limited success in Boston over his 19-year career. He went 7-6 with a 5.08 ERA and 97 strikeouts over 20 regular-season starts at Fenway.
