The Tampa Bay Rays could get a key contributor to their hot start back in time for the stretch run.

Tyler Glasnow, who has been sidelined since mid-May with a right forearm strain, thinks his chances of pitching again this season are "very high" after a successful bullpen session on Monday, according to Juan Toribio of MLB.com.

The 25-year-old right-hander broke out as one of the best pitchers in the American League and appeared to be an early Cy Young favorite prior to hitting the injured list. Over eight starts, Glasnow authored a 6-1 record with a 1.86 ERA and 2.31 FIP.

Glasnow was a key piece of the return from the Pittsburgh Pirates in the Chris Archer trade that also netted the Rays outfielder Austin Meadows and right-handed pitching prospect Shane Baz.

The Rays sit 9 1/2 games back of the New York Yankees for first in the AL East and occupy the second wild-card spot.
