The New York Yankees don't anticipate needing to place a hard innings cap on right-handed starter Domingo German, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

The current major-league wins leader won't have any restrictions in October either, Morosi added.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has privately acknowledged that German is approaching a limit but won't make any usage guidelines public, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Meanwhile, manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that no talks about an innings cap are happening at this time.

"Again, we haven’t set any hard limits on him," Boone said of German. "We haven’t even honestly gotten deep into those conversations yet. We'll probably get to a point, as we get some guys back, we may alter some things. But honestly, we feel like he’s strong right now and still has a lot left in the tank."

German, who's 16-2 this season with a 3.96 ERA and 124 strikeouts, has thrown 120 innings in 2019 between the majors and minors after logging 94 in 2018. He threw 123 2/3 in 2017.

The 26-year-old spent three weeks on the injured list earlier this season, which helped with his overall workload.
