For Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins, it looks like revenge is a dish best served by hitting a two-run home run followed by an extra-slow trot around the bases.

The 26-year-old slugger took New York Mets reliever Jacob Rhame deep in the top of the ninth on Wednesday - one day after the Phillies accused the right-hander of intentionally throwing at Hoskins.

Hoskins' 34.23-second trot was MLB's longest of the 2019 season and first over 30 seconds, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.

Pitcher Bartolo Colon, by comparison, memorably trotted around the bases at a 30.5-second pace in 2016 after hitting his first career home run, reports Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Rhame didn't beat around the bush when asked about the home run.

"He got me. Make a better pitch, he doesn't get to run around the bases," Rhame said, according to Tim Britton of The Athletic.

Hoskins and his teammates were upset about this incident from Tuesday's game:

"A couple guys kind of said the phrase, 'Don't poke the sleeping bear,'" Hoskins said, according to David Lennon of Newsday. "And seemed to be that the last couple of innings was a pretty good indication that may have happened."

Philadelphia and New York will next meet for a four-game series that begins June 24, a fact that clearly isn't lost on either club's social media team:
