The No. 7 will never again be worn by a member of the Minnesota Twins.

On Tuesday, the Twins announced they'll retire the number worn by Joe Mauer during his 15 seasons with the team. The ceremony will take place pregame on a yet-to-be-determined date.

The 35-year-old Mauer will join Harmon Killebrew (No. 3), Tony Oliva (No. 6), Kent Hrbek (No. 14), Bert Blyleven (No. 28), Rod Carew (No. 29), Kirby Puckett (No. 34), and Tom Kelly (No. 10) as the ninth player or manager to have their number retired by the Twins franchise. Jackie Robinson's No. 42 is retired across all of MLB.

Mauer announced his retirement from baseball at the beginning of November after a decorated career that featured three batting titles, six All-Star appearances, and an American League MVP in 2009.
