Report: Angels, Yankees among teams eyeing Soria
The market for free-agent reliever Joakim Soria appears to be gaining traction, with at least five clubs reported to be eyeing the veteran pitcher.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, and Cincinnati Reds are among the teams interested in signing Soria, a source told Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.
A two-time All-Star with the Kansas City Royals, Soria split 2018 between the Chicago White Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers. The 34-year-old posted a combined 3.12 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP and 11.1 K/9, recording 16 saves in 60 2/3 innings.
After a midseason trade, he slotted into the Brewers' bullpen primarily as a middle reliever.
No deal for Soria is expected immediately, as talks are likely to continue at next week's winter meetings.
