The Houston Astros have made an offer to free-agent pitcher Charlie Morton.
It's a one-year contract with an option, reports USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale.
The veteran right-hander, who turned 35 last week, didn't receive a $17.9-million qualifying offer from the Astros earlier this month.
Morton spent the past two seasons with Houston, formulating the best results of his career.
