Cubs speedster Terrance Gore records 1st hit in 5 years
After appearing in parts of five major-league seasons, Terrance Gore finally got a hit.
The speedy base-stealing expert, who is under contract with the Chicago Cubs and on their current expanded roster, singled off Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer in the ninth inning on Saturday.
Gore entered the Cubs 10-3 loss to the Nationals as a pinch-hitter and smacked a 93-mph offering from Scherzer up the middle. He didn't steal a base afterwards, however.
25 stolen bases and 16 runs scored over five big league seasons.

The 27-year-old's base hit was the first of his 54-game career in the majors, where he was 0-for-12.
Gore finished Saturday's opener of the doubleheader with more stolen bases (23) than plate appearances (16).
