Oakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis' jersey looked different Monday, and the alteration might have given him a little extra motivation.

Davis smashed his 37th home run this season in the third inning against the Texas Rangers while wearing a jersey autographed by youngster Anthony Slocumb.

The slugger spoke with children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation before Monday's game and asked Slocumb if he could sign his jersey, according to MLB.com's Jane Lee.

About a dozen kids were hosted by the A's on Monday and were allowed to take the field with players during the national anthem.
