After many encounters with an annoying blister on his throwing hand, the Toronto Blue Jays placed right-hander Marcus Stroman on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday.

The blister has troubled the 27-year-old throughout a number of of his past few starts, and he decided to show just how ugly his finger looked on his Instagram story Monday.

Stroman has lasted five innings or less in three of his past four starts, and had to deal with the blister once again in his latest outing on Friday against the New York Yankees, where he allowed five earned runs in four innings of a 7-5 loss.

He sounded frustrated when asked about his finger following the performance.

"Way more frustrating. It’s just out of your control," Stroman said of dealing with the blister, according to Sportnet's Shi Davidi. "I killed myself to be back this year, to get my shoulder right and it’s finally getting to the point where it feels great and to have this pop up - it sucks. It’s something I have to deal with, it’s something I’ll get through.

"I usually channel and turn adversity into a positive always, so I’ll get through this. I know who I am as a pitcher, I know how dominant I’m going to be in this game for many, many years to come and it’s just a matter of getting this right. I’ll get through it and I’ll come out stronger like I always do."

Stroman said he hopes to miss just one start.

The hurler owns a 4-8 record with a 5.27 ERA and 1.44 WHIP during 18 starts for the Blue Jays this season.
